Orphan Sponsorship

Here are some opportunities to invest in a child who have lost those dear ones who usually give and support the future of that child. In other words you can become the future of a child by giving them an opportunity to access a reasonable education and accommodation.

Nicholas is the brother of Denis. We discovered Denis (5 years old)last year living in extreme poverty and moved him into the orphan home and primary school. We are sponsoring him personally. Then to our surprise his brother Nicholas turned up who is a 7 year old with a bright sharp mind and outgoing personality but he was destined to living in squalor and working hard to survive together with seven other orphans. We therefore have moved Nicholas into the boarding section of Kyazanga primary school. We are seeking a sponsor (40$ NZ per month) for Nicholas during his primary/intermediate years to give him a decent education and hope for the future. Nicholas Grandmothers home is only 400 metres from the Joy for Humanity Orphan home and is walking distance from the primary school. Here are some photos of Nicholas current home and extended family with their Grandmother. Nicholas is standing just behind me in one photo and to the right of Joseph (Director of School) in another photo. Nicholas and Denis lost their parents to the AIDS virus.

Betty is a 13 year old girl who has lost her father to Aids and is now watching her mother die from the same sickness. She has 5 brothers and sisters who need to be looked after using produce from the land surrounding their house. Her mother requested help to pay her school fees at the local Catholic Secondary School at $15 a month. This is an opportunity to help not just one child but a whole family in desperate need. The following are photos of Betty's house and her mum.

We met Paulina's Aunt (Paulina is one of the orphan girls being sponsored into the Kyazanga orphan home and primary school) living in an old mud home with 9 orphans just 2 km east of Kyazanga township. Four of these children cannot attend school because of the sheer need to survive. We propose to sponsor these children into Kyazanga primary school as boarders. We seek sponsors at $40 each per child for their primary years. Even if we get one of them into school this would radically change the fortunes short and long term of this family. Here are some photos of this family.

One of the highlights of our stay at Kyazanga, Uganda was to spend endless days playing and enjoying the company of eight precious girls who have found a new life away from extreme poverty and AIDS affected villages. They are strong and very capable and loved showing us their new vegetable gardens. The following photos show their house and gardens. Their still remains an opportunity to support two of these girls at $40 each per month.
